The cover of the August 2, 1976 issue of TIME featured our special lady, Nadia."She's Perfect" proclaimed TIME. Nadia received her first 10 on July 18. Within a week, she racked up her famous seven perfect 10's. Her sensational performance made her the darling of the games, and TIME's obvious choice for their cover.
TIME
held an anniversary celebration on March 3 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City,
right across from the TIME/LIFE building. About 1200 people, including President
Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev, and even Dr. Jack Kelvorkian were in attendance.
TIME states that everyone who had been on the cover had been invited. Nadia, whom also was certainly invited, did not attend the gala.
