A SCARE ran through the Rumanian championships here yes-terday.  Nadia Comaneci spent the whole day having heat treatment and massage on an injured back.

Some people fear Nadia, who has slimmed down to a gaunt seven stone, may have left herself injury prone.

Tony Murdock, development officer of the British Amateur Gymnastics Association, is anxiously following Nadia's progress.

He has aIready booked Russian ace Nellie Kim for the Coca-Cola international meeting at Wembley next Thursday and Fri-day.  He wants a con-frontation between Kim and Comaneci for the London audience.camp

Yesterday the British boys bounced back bounced back an gave the two-finger sign to the judges who have been marking -them so low with a confident display in the voluntary exercises.

The British men's team have overhauled the Australians, Austrians, Brazilians and the Mexicans.
